Hello pilots!

As you may have read, Canada Air Virtual is upgrading its website and online tools to make a better experience for you.

After listening to your feedback, we decided that some changes needed to be made. Our last upgrade, while necessary, caused a couple of unexpected kinks and we hope we’ve sorted those out.

On Sunday, January 19 , 2025, we will transition to an upgraded site. As a result, a number of things will improve, including:

  • More flexibility in searching for tours
  • The ability to rate tours and provide feedback
  • More streamlined dispatch functionality
  • More compatibility with SimBrief - including tour dispatching
  • Full compatibility with Mac and Linux products

The previous iteration was less flexible and we had little ability to make changes or get support. With our new Website and smartCARS 3, we have an increased ability to customize and enhance your experience.

To prepare for the transition, please complete any flights by 14:00z Sunday, January 19th. If you’re in the air while the site transitions, you won’t get credit for your progress. If you still want to be flying, you’ll have the option of manually submitting a Manual Flight Report on the new Website once it goes live.

If you have questions, please put them in the Discord #New-Website channel. Once the site returns, we will notify everyone via Discord.

When you visit www.canadaairvirtual.ca for the first time, you’ll see the logged out version of the site. You will need to reset your password.

You will need to download smartCARS 3. The vaBase ACARS will no longer work. Once you are logged into the website, click on your name in the menu and select Downloads from the drop-down menu. Follow the instructions to set up smartCARS 3. We will provide links to the new Knowledge Base once we launch the Website. This will give you step by step instructions for everything you need to know.

Tailwinds and blue skies,
The Canada Air Virtual Staff Team
