The Cannonball Run, also known as the Cannonball Baker Sea-To-Shining-Sea Memorial Trophy Dash, was an unsanctioned cross-country road race held from 1971 to 1979.

General Aviation (GA) airplanes played a significant role in the event, primarily used for aerial reconnaissance and support.

Pilots would fly over the race route to monitor the progress of the participants, provide updates, and ensure the safety of the drivers. This added an extra layer of excitement and strategy to the race, as competitors had to be mindful of the aerial surveillance. If your up to the challenge, come and "spot" for one of the competitors.
