Join us on this adventure flying around the world in your favorite propeller or turboprop aircraft. This tour idea is based on the adventure novel by the French writer Jules Verne (Around the World in 80 Days), which was originally published in 1873. This tells the story of how a Victorian English gentleman, Phileas Fogg, accompanied by his French servant, Jean Passepartout, travel around the world in eighty days. Throughout the book they are pursued by a detective Fix, who is convinced that Phileas Fogg is the perpetrator of a daring robbery during which £55,000 were stolen from the Bank of England three days before the trip began. The story starts in London on Wednesday October 2, 1872. At the Reform Club, Fogg gets involved in an argument over an article in The Daily Telegraph stating that with the opening of a new railway section in India, it is now possible to travel around the world in 80 days. He accepts a wager for £20,000 from his fellow club members that “I will make the tour of the world in eighty days or less” He promises to return on Saturday December 21st, 1872 at a quarter before nine p.m. With Passepartout accompanying him, Fogg departs from London by train at 8:45 p.m. on October 2; in order to win the wager, he must return to the club by this same time on December 21st, 80 days later. The tour consists of 4 parts. Each part has 20 legs for a total 80 Legs. Part 1 Departing from EGLC-London City Airport finally arriving at VABB-Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport on Leg 20. Part 2 Leg-21 departs from VABB- Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport finally arriving at RODN -Kadena Air Base on Leg-40. Part 3 Leg-41 departs from RODN- Kadena Air Base finally arriving at KACV- Arcata Airport on Leg-60. Part 4 Leg-61 departs from KACV-Arcata Airport finally arriving back at EGLC-London City Airport on Leg-80.
